Ray Miles - Chairman

Ray Miles became a Non-Executive Director of the Company in June 2006 and succeeded Bill Colvin as its Chairman on 1 January 2008. Mr Miles has spent most of his career in the shipping and transport industry. From 1988 until December 2005, Mr Miles was chief executive officer of CP Ships Limited and was also the senior independent director of Stelmar Shipping Limited from 2004 to 2005. Mr Miles is Deputy Chairman of International Personal Finance PLC which, on 16 July 2007, demerged from Provident Financial PLC. He is chairman of the Devon Community Foundation and joined the advisory board of Stena AB in 2006.

Bill Colvin - Chief Executive

Bill Colvin was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Company in March 2005, when the Group acquired the Highfield Group. On 1 January 2008 he stood down as Chairman and succeeded Philip Scott as Chief Executive of the Company. He joined NHP PLC in 2000 and became chief executive later that year. Prior to 2000 he was group finance director of British Borneo Oil & Gas PLC for seven years. Mr Colvin currently holds non-executive directorship positions at, Scottish Care Limited, Energy XXI PLC and BSN Medical. Mr Colvin is a business and economics graduate from Edinburgh University and he qualified as a Scottish Chartered Accountant in 1982 at Ernst and Young.

John Murphy - Group Managing Director

John Murphy joined the Company as Group Operations Director in March 2005. Mr Murphy has more than 19 years' experience in operational management in the care sector and his experience includes working as the group operations director for Tamaris PLC, the managing director of Caledonian Nursing Homes, the chief executive of Idun Health Care Limited, the chief executive of Highfield Care and as a member of the board of NHP PLC.

Kamma Foulkes - Head of Elderly Care

Kamma Foulkes was appointed as an Executive Director of the Company on 3 July 2008. A registered nurse, Kamma has worked within the residential and nursing care sector since the early 1990's. She was an Operations Director for Southern Cross Healthcare from 1998-2003. In October 2003 she joined Highfield Care Limited in the position of Managing Director. She returned to Southern Cross in that role in March 2005, when the Highfield Group was acquired by Southern Cross. Ms. Foulkes became Group Operations Director in early 2007 with responsibility for approximately 50% of the Company's portfolio of elderly homes. She is a non-executive director of the English Community Care Association.

Richard Midmer - Group Finance Director

Richard Midmer was appointed as an Executive Director of the Company on 1 July 2008. He previously worked in the oil and gas sector as Finance Director of British-Borneo Oil & Gas Plc. He joined NHP plc, the quoted care home company, as Group Finance Director in November 2000 where he worked until its acquisition by private equity in February 2005. He is a non-executive Director of Rugby Estates Investment Trust plc.

Christopher Fisher - Senior Independent Non-Executive Director

Christopher Fisher joined the Board in June 2006 and was appointed senior independent Non-Executive Director on 1 January 2008. He is a partner in Penfida, a new firm providing independent financial advice to pension fund trustees, and is also a non-executive director of Kelda Group, a trustee of the Imperial War Museum and Treasurer of Reading University. He spent most of his career at Lazard, the investment bank, where he was a managing director and has also served as vice chairman, corporate finance, at KPMG.

Baroness Morgan of Huyton - Non-Executive Director

Baroness Morgan of Huyton became a Non-Executive Director of the Company in June 2006. A former teacher, Baroness Morgan worked as a senior aide to the British Prime Minister from 1997 to 2005. In 2001, she was made a peer and served as Minister in the Cabinet Office. From 2001 to 2005, she was Director of Government Relations, Downing Street, working closely with the Prime Minister. Baroness Morgan is now working as an adviser to a children's charity, serving on the board of the Olympic Delivery Authority and is a non-executive director of Carphone Warehouse PLC.

Nancy Hollendoner

Nancy Hollendoner was appointed as a Director by the Board with effect from 1 January 2008. Nancy is currently engaged as a senior advisor on the healthcare market to Hawkpoint Partners Limited. She previously worked as a healthcare analyst for a number of years, most recently having worked for UBS investment bank between 1996 and 2002. Nancy served as a non-executive director of NHP plc between 2003 and 2005.
